Davis and Elkins College hosts two Classic Upward Bound Programs serving participants in 10th through 12th grades from Barbour, Pendleton, Pocahontas, Randolph, and Tucker Counties in West Virginia.
What is Upward Bound?
Upward Bound (UB) Programs are Title IV TRiO grant funded programs through the U.S. Department of Education. Upward Bound Programs are designed to generate in program participants the skills and motivation necessary to complete a secondary education and to enter and succeed in a program of postsecondary education.
Davis & Elkins College Upward Bound Programs are year-round programs with all services and program components FREE to selected participants of the target area.

Our Mission
Our mission is to guide low-income and/or first generation Appalachian high-school students to postsecondary success.
Fact:
Students in the Upward Bound Program are four times more likely to earn an undergraduate degree than those students from similar backgrounds who did not participate in TRiO.
